A sample is most useful when it answers a defined set of questions. Before opening the carton, prepare the model reference, requested configuration, finish reference and any drawings or quotation notes that form the basis of the review.
Confirm identity and completeness
Check the model marking, configuration and included components against the written request. Photograph the packaging, labels and complete set before installation so differences can be traced clearly.
Review installation conditions
Compare mounting dimensions, connection direction, reach, clearances and service access with the intended basin, sink, bath or wall condition. A sample that looks correct on a table may still conflict with the project interface.
Evaluate operation and appearance
Operate handles, diverters, pull-out functions and moving parts in the intended orientation. Review visible surfaces under consistent light and compare the exact sample with the approved finish reference. Record any acceptable variation rather than relying on memory.
Create an approval record
List the sample date, model, configuration, observations, open questions and approval status. Attach annotated photographs and identify who approved each decision. If a point remains unresolved, mark it for confirmation before the order specification is finalised.
Continue Your Project
