Wall-Mounted vs Deck-Mounted Faucets: A Specification Checklist

Compare installation interfaces, proportions, access and coordination before choosing a mounting direction.

Mounting direction changes both the visual composition and the technical coordination around a basin or bath. Choose it early enough to align the product with furniture, wall build-up, plumbing and maintenance access.

Deck-mounted considerations

Check the number and position of mounting holes, deck thickness, available space below the surface, connection access and the relationship between spout reach and the basin bowl. Confirm that handles and moving parts clear the backsplash and surrounding objects.

Wall-mounted considerations

Coordinate the valve or body depth with the finished wall build-up and identify the approved installation range. Confirm the outlet position, centre lines, service approach and the final relationship between spout, controls and basin.

Proportion and water direction

For either direction, compare spout height and reach with the basin geometry. The outlet should support the intended use without creating awkward hand clearance or directing water too close to the edge.

Information to send with an enquiry

Include a plan or elevation where possible, mounting-surface dimensions, basin details, wall or deck conditions, finish direction and the selected model reference. Final interfaces and suitability should be confirmed for the exact configuration.
